N’AWLINS REDUX
This project embraces the dialogue between old + new. The original 800 square foot, late 1800’s, residence is restored with meticulous attention to craft. With the restoration of windows, grates, brackets, wood planks and stained glass, the original jewel box-like structure is contrasted with a new transparent modern addition. This insertion creates an ‘L’ around a new pool courtyard while cantilevering to the north to provide an owner carport. The floating, glass enclosed master bath is a central feature of the experience glowing with light after sundown.
