NEDERLAND TREEHOUSE
The site offers two distinct experiences. The first is a provincial, grounded experience with the trees acting as a semi-permeable enclosure. The second is an open, treetop experience of expanse and lightness. Given the desire to live elevated, we identified qualities of the tree house to explore and emphasize including climb/ascent, perch/edge, bridge/threshold and aperture/perforation. The project is a two family retreat for a brother/sister and their families. The program includes two master suites plus two micro guest suites.
