BAREFOOT LAKES TOWER
Serving as the symbol of Barefoot Lakes, the Sky Tower is a 5-story tall, interactive monument resting on the community’s lone island. The architecture beckons to the traditional ‘Plains’ typology, reinterpreting the quality of the grain silo and presenting a constant point of reference for the community. The heavy timber construction and slatted walls are unique to each elevation, leaning out to invite visitors in and reaching towards views of Long’s Peak.
The tower is the last stop along a designed exercise route which culminates with the continuous staircase weaving in and around itself. While premium views are available at the top of the tower, another visually unique experience takes place at the ground level where an oculus to the sky is framed by an Escher-like staircase.
